A little more treatment to do around this door area but really pleased with the sound and feel that the rooms giving.

Looks really neat and must sound amazing, can I ask what modifications the sony 940 has had?

Not the first time I've seen it, but looking particularly fantastic in that photo 🙂

How easy did you find integration of the C1 and how much do you think it adds to the 40s? Since experiencing the C2 with my av the c1 is something I've been mentally toying with for a few weeks 😉

Hello Ben🙂

As you well know, the 40s bass is exceptional

I have the C1 set at 58 and it just ticks along completely and utterly unnoticeable. That is unless i turn off the speakers and then there she is bub bub bubing away when required subtly filling that little bit. In fact from time to time i have a feel just to make sure

I'll be honest, there have been times where its not been on and the 40's have been so good that iv not even noticed. When that happens and i do turn it on again i'm instantly aware of a subtle overall improvement but not from the direction of the sub. I know that kind of contradicts from the above paragraph but i reckon you know what i mean.

All in all a seamless integration and i'm so glad i didn't sell it to help fund the 40's 🙂

Hi, iv had the player now for about two years and its been a real treat. The only problem has been the SACD side of things whereby recently it has problems reading certain hybrids. Googling would indicate that i'm far from alone and that a new optical laser will solve the issue. Iv had one now for a few months and haven't got round to having it fitted.

As for the mods, its previous owner paid £400 originally for the player, the Vacuum State mods to the DAC board were I think £450 and the the PSU mods around £250-300. all with a few other bits done to the player I seen to recall it stood him at around £1100 .

The detail retrieval is first class, it will not suffer poorly recorded discs and will honestly replicate any cutting errors in them !! You connect it into your system via the second set of RCA connectors, the original ones are no longer connected as the upgrade replaces the DAC.

Oops nearly forgot, the mods were done near Derby by a chap called Colin Yallop ( Chevron Audio )!

Cheers

Andy🙂
