Hi,

I found the MF Clic vastly superior to the MF DAC on my system and this was puzzling as they both claim to use 'same' dac, I have tried this twice and each time came to the same conclusion in demo rooms. THis wasn't a slight difference, I believe some may say 'night and day' which is why I did the test again at another dealer.

You obviously have a different conclusion so may be down to set up.

I found the Clic a good upgrade over both the mdac and rega dac and at the time was over budget but may stretch to it now, as said before I will be doing more demo's when the Naim V1 dac comes out and will also compare with NAD M51 .

Thanks

I'm on the search for a new pair of speakers - I've posted my musings in another thread. Anyway, whilst out shopping for speakers I came across the M6 DAC for a very good price and ended up buying one .... Yes yes yes!! I won't bother with a description of the sound, I will say though that it sounds just right.

The speaker search is on hold for the moment whilst I enjoy my music collection .... the KEFs sound amazing.

It's brought back the same feelings I had with my very first hi fi set up when I was 20 years old which consisted of an Arcam 8r, Marantz KI Sig 63 and a pair of Mordant Short 208.

IMO. It is vital that the quality of the Source is commensurate with the rest of the system, or you can spend a lot of money solving the wrong problem. The LS50s may only be 800GBP, but they are a "cheap" Reference speaker.

Totally get where you are coming from CNO (you've voiced the importance of the source a number of times).

The KEFs have surprised me once again ... The itch has been satisfied ... for now ...
