Music without the buzz

A few years ago i connected my new laptop to my amp to play some stored music but the hum/buzz was very loud.

Looking on various help sites it seemed that this was the norm. Unplugging the mains supply transformer to laptop cleared it up.

Haven't bothered since. Has this problem ever been solved. No problem with desk top pc.

Get a USB/DAC, they run from about £25 to £200. Will sound far, far better than the headphone output.
