Multi channel output Blu ray now, or put the difference to a new amp later?

I have just replaced my much loved screenplay 5700 with the Sanyo PLV700 for Christmas, wow! Football has never looked better. Problem was that my Denon DVD 2910 gave up the gost on boxing day. My son has been happily allowing us to plug in his PS3 to watch Blurays and DVDs over the holidays.

So I need to replace the DVD player and upgrade to Blu-ray a bit sooner than intended.

My question is this, am I better to shell out on a player with multi channel analog output now, or get a cheaper player now and use the money to save up for a new receiver on the basis that I can get "normal" digital 5.1 out of the player in the meantime . In all other aspects I am happy with my Yamaha A5, I don't see the need for video upscaling in my setup, and I doubt if I would install another two speakers.

Would appreciate peoples views......

The A5 is a great amp. I would say get a blu ray player with analogue out and stick with the amp, unless you need room correction, which modern amps do rather well.
