These floorstanders come with the ability to bi-wire (4 posts per speaker), however I only have a normal wire with your standard two connectors.

They are hooked up to a Denon x3500h receiver, though they sound way off Hi-Fi quality, even with about 15 hours of run in time.

Wanted to know whether the wire should be connected to the bottom posts or the top? It's a van den hul hybrid magnum with spade connectors to both amp & speakers.

Any info would be much appreciated.

As long as the gold coloured connectors are in place between the pairs of posts (vertically). That is one connecting the two black together and one connecting the two red, it doesn't matter which of the posts you connect your wire two, as long as one is connected to black and the other to red.

Actually, one thought. Have you got the Denon set up in a 5.1 config, with the RX6 as the front pair? How did you configure the settings, with the front pair set to Larg, and have you run the Audtssey set up?

If you put the amp in pure stereo mode, do they still sound off?

Are there no metal bars or jumper wires between the upper and lower posts? The binding posts need to be connected together if you are only using one set of speaker wires.

Oh, couldn't believe it... they were detached all this time lol. Reconnected & sound superb. Thanks for notifying.

Love that these forums are back for noob moments like this haha.
