Hi Guys,

Just a quick question. I decided to use the Audyssey auto-setup on my Denon AVR-3311. It's set the crossover frequency to the following:

Front - 40Hz

Center - 40Hz

Surround - 60Hz

Movies do sound cleaner but there's less bass. I would like to hear more punchy bass but try to maintain cleaner dialogue. Any suggestions on what to set the crossover as? I know the default is usually 80Hz.

Thanks

The A40 only go down to 50Hz and the A10 down to 60Hz, so I would suggest at least 60Hz or may do some damage to the speakers at loud volume.

I have mine crossed at 80hz. Audyssey doesnt always get it right.

I would not set below the rated cross over of the actual speaker.

If you increase the crossover above 60hz you will be able to play louder and cleaner with less demand on the amp.

Let your sub do the bass

The low pass filter for my sub on my 3310 is set at120hz as the .1channel contains info upto 120hz as per Audyssey advice.

Experiment with the various settings and see what works for you.

Hi gosalh,
The LFE or LFE setting + Main has no effect if your speakers are all set to small as they should be so ignore it.Make sure as previously mentioned that the low pass filter in the bass settings is set to 120 hz this is the upper limit of the .1 LFE channel and only effects .1 bass
Enjoy
