Mat for rega rp1, what height,thickness to buy?

I want to upgrade the turntabel mat of my rega rp1 queen le, im just not shure of the thickness if it's 1.5mm or as i measured 2mm

Why does it need replacing?

You can get an identical one from Rega if it's trashed or there are plenty of others at 2 to 3mm that are suitable replacements. The extra 1mm isn't going to make any difference at this level.

It probably doesn't.... gasolin is an incurable fiddler/tweaker *biggrin* Next on the agenda will probably be phono leads....

Sorry to be dismissive but changing the mat on an RP1 isn't going to make much difference unless you get an Achromat which would be total overkill

get a better deck !

Because i want one that is less static and a couple of times i had it come of when i had to turn the record, if i choose a clear one i can also better enjoy the fine artwork

SRM/TECH acrylic mats can be found on eBay, I got one new for £11.00.

It really helps with static.

A good mat costs money. I'd stick with what you've got and just remove it to view artwork. 🙂
