Hi everone am going to give u my finding of mains cables... Its really a hit & miss with mains cables.
1 Depends if u have a bad mains in the first place...
2 If ur mains filter is passive or a regenerative supply
3 If u like the change of sound from d change of ur filter.. it any at all.
In most cases there is a change in sound but may not be what ur looking 4.... there is what i call the Strangling effect.. smooths our the sound but at the same time dynamics of the muzic is sum what gone.
Bass will be cleaner but with a hole in the middle effect making snare & vocals sound thin & 4ward.
But remember llike i said at the start its hit & miss with mains cables.
On the piont of if ur mains is not that bad u would notice very little change if any at all.
Passive mains conditioners tend 2 do what i said above as per dynamics & d rest...example, mains cables from specialist.. Again hit & miss. In the case of regenarative mains filters its a defferent story all 2gether.
Have 2 say sometimes they can be big & very expensive.... They have there own on board filters & capasitors... u have less of the strangling effect & more benefits this way...
2 round up, am not just saying this, i have tried alot of mains cables, cause i got a studio.. & write & produce muzic. Been using mains cables 4 over 8yrs now.... hope this puts more light on this subject... Would welcome any question.
