Looking to upgrade my turntable.

I have a very cheap turntable and i'm looking to buy a proper one. My budget is around £300. When i went to the next door shop i found out that there are a lot of things to buy not just the turntable. I'm really not into paying £700 for turntable, amp and speakers. The question is, what sort of stuff i need to play a Rega RP1 or Rega Planar 2? I'm looking for 2nd hand stuff. i don't mind buying a new Rega rp1 but i'm not into paying £400 for speakers and amp since i have no idea about them.

You need an amp with a built in phono stage or you're going to have to buy a separate phono preamp.

Pioneer A400 amplifier just about to finish on eBay. A classic in its day.

Audiolab 8000A. Another classic with a built in phono stage.
