Looking for someone to upgrade my Turntable

Hi everyone

I'm looking to have my old Thorens TD165's tonearm re-wired and a new cartridge fitted. Given that I am a hamfisted old git with the patience of Atilla the Hun I am looking for a dealer who can do this work for me. Does anyone know of a dealer who can carry out this kind of work? I live in Luton so the dealer needs to be in travelling distance.

Oh, and this is my first post on these forums so please be nice to me 😱)

You have two dealers near yourself that could help you.

The first is Techno Sound in MK. They sell Pro-Ject TT's and may help you.

The other is Acoustic Arts in Slip End. They sell SME's, GyroDec's etc.

Thanks mate. The Thorens is very old. We bought it of ebay for £70 and it's really well made. It has an old cartridge, a Shure 75ed, but it still plays well. We replaced the old rubber mat for a cork one, and replaced the stylus and belt. We really want a new cartridge and arm wiring now as that will bring it bang up to date. Also, we love the retro looks.
