Hello,

I plan to order Q Acoustics speakers for a Home Cinema configuration.

What are the good A/V amp associations with these excellent speakers ?

My local resseller proposes an Onkyo 808 but it was not in stock and I've no way to listen.

What do you think about this new amp ?

What are the other possible choices ?

Thx a lot for your help !

Fabads,

Assuming you are not looking for a 3D pass-through amp, you might want to consider an Onkyo TX-SR607, Denon AVR-1910, Pioneer VSX-919AH or Yamaha RX-V765.

These are all previous generation models that still sound superb for the money. If you have a limit of £500 to spend, than without doubt, get the Denon AVR-2310. This amp will hold you in good stead even if you decide to upgrade your speakers at a later stage.

Each amp offers a unique sound quality so if possible, try to demo these before you decide.

Hello,

Ronald, thanks for your advice. After some readings on this website and this forum, I don't know if my speaker's choice is the best for my room and maybe I would rather start from the beginning !

My room is not dedicated to home cinema and the size is about 40 mý (ceiling at 4.5m). I have no wall behind the listening position. To position the rear speakers, I have the opportunity to use a wood's beam (at approx 3m high and 1 m from the listening position). So I think rear speakers shall be punchy enough because of the distance. The listening position is approx 4 meters from the TV screen and left and right front speakers could be positioned at a 4 m interval.

I can't use floorstanding speakers (and I regret it). The use of this speakers shall be polyvalent for both home cinema and music.

That's why I selected Q Acoustics package. I have a look also on the Monitor Audio Bronze BR2 (the budget is approximately 1000£ max for the speakers). In this range of budget what are the good values.

Thanks a lot for your advices.

Fabrice.
