Having went down the theory of turntable, arm, cartridge.
I purchased some time back, a Technics SL-1200 G.
With a reasonable entry Nagaoka MP-110h

Now having the funds to hopefully go someway towards matching the level of the turntable and arm.

What cartridge suggestions might do justice to the turntable ?

A budget of £500 at the moment is available .

A good budget.
What Is that turntable connected to?
I mean what is the rest of your set-up?
That 1200g isn't cheap and demands a much better cartridge
I suggest a Goldring GL1042, it's a classic for a good reason.
Your MP110 is relatively cheap. If you want to stick with them try the MP200

Hi,

if you like character of sound of your Nagaoka cartridge, I will vote for better Nagaoka cartridge. Just look on the rest of the system. So good cartridge will shine with proper phonopreamp, cabling etc. BR.

SL1200G ideally needs a £1,500/£3,000 cartridge to really Shine
£500 Used all these with great results
Jico Clipper , Grado Timbre Platinum 3 , Audio Technica AT-OC9XSH , Soundsmith Otello

1200G correctly set-up & tweaked / cartridge/.phono stage can rival any deck at any price

Thanks for the replies
The Technics is connected to a Yamaha AS-2000 and Mission 770's

I understand a demo will be best, which may prove challenging in a practical sense.

Any insight into differences between the 1042 and MP-200 ?
Mind the sound of the Nagaoka is very easy on the ear.

IF persuaded I might be able to push the budget a little further...

Agree the auditioning of cartridge isn't easy.
The 1042 has been going for as long as it has because it's a classic.
Nagaoka, after a price increase some years ago, are not the bargain they once were.
