Which kind of amp and speakers do you have in your HiFi setup?

Yes, if I do buy something now it will be a brand new Sony AN1000 av receiver.
Some people, used to AV amps, will stick with them. Personally I think they aren't much cop in a stereo system and you're paying for unnecessary facilities. Unless also using them in an AV set-up of course.
A good stereo amp driving suitable speakers that have been set up correctly should be better, perhaps you have simply become accustomed to what you had.

Did just see this Sony stereo receiver:

Still not sure how that will help unless you can do a home audition with one.
Yep, and I don’t like returning stuff even though I do it quite a bit. I suppose I don’t need many things and everything I have is really good, so it’s a though task to replace unless I spend a lot of money which I don’t have. I maxed out my credit card for 3 months to buy this amp and the Apple headphones which are a success - thank God. 🙂

Because that was an impulse buy I have to admit.

I wasn’t sure again where the speaker cables went. 🙂

They look very strange on the back of that Sony stereo receiver and it also didn’t have a sub input.

I am not sure to be honest and am going to take my time if I do anything. Thanks though. 👍

I might well be thinking to hook all my speakers back up to the Pioneer VSA-LX805 amp again and just mix how I listen to it. And forget to having a second amp, that makes sense.

To be honest it was my dad who said the Cambridge Audio was rubbish I was in 2 minds over it. And if he can’t put up with the noise of it downstairs I haven’t got much hope with it. So he said return it which happens a lot with my returns and cancellations.

That’s why I just spent a lot on headphones because my niece can’t put up with the noise either. They both think I’m deaf. 🙂

Just hooked it back up and have turned my sub down a lot and it does sound better with the sub now and it needs the sub in my view.

No, it doesnt sound good.
