Ki Sig v CR603?

I've just ordered a M-CR603, I mainly listen to Spotify and CD's, so a few questions,

How will this stack up against my Marantz PM66Ki Sig and CD63 Ki Sig?

How does the AirPlay on the M-CR603 work with Spotify? I currently have an AirPort Express into Beresford DAC into PM66, do I still need the AirPort Express?

From reading other posts on the M-CR603, which IIRC Chebby, hifilover1979 et al don't use a DAC with there's, I take it i wouldn't need the Beresford?

How does the DAB/Internet Radio/FM/AM radio work, do I need an aerial? Apologies for the dumb question but I haven't used a radio since the early 90's.......

My speakers are ATC SCM7 and there's no chance of me changing them I will connect the M-CR603 with wired ethernet cable

I've not heard the Marantz 603, but I've an 'orrible feeling that the speakers may not be a great match.

No, not a chance of a demo here in Ireland. If it's that bad, i'll put the M-CR603 in the living room and buy a well matched pair of speakers

In my opinion there is no contest, your KI equipment will walk it sorry. Faster, more accurate, more musical.

You shouldnt, IMO, compare an all-in-one to seperates as seperates will always (well usually) come out on top

However in saying that the CR603 is one of the best systems I've heard for a long time and IMO sounded better to me than the Arcam Solo Neo

The CR603 is a very good system indeed and sounds amazing and I'm sure a lot pf people will be impressed by its capabilities...

AirPlay is designed to work with iTunes and other compatible Apple products; as far as a know it wont work with Spotify. With this you'll need to run it through your PC and then via the Music Server settings on your CR603; you should then be able to play it through the system. I may be wrong though as I dont use spotify

I dont use a DAC with the system; not sure where you'd connect it as the systems an all-in-one so unless you were plugging it in between another source and the system...

DAB radio has it's own aerial; internet radio picks up the stations via your internet access so you either need to hard line it with ethernet or use a wireless ethernet bridge like I do and pick up the radio via wifi

As for your speakers; IMO the CR603 should drive them fine. I've heard the CR603 with PMC DB1i's and the GB1i's so I'm sure it'll be fine with the ATC's. It kicks out between 50-60wpc so it's not shy on power. Also use the sound settings and change the bass/mid/treble and bass-booster around to see what levels suit you best etc...

I agree with Phil ! You're not comparing like for like here Torres09. The M_CR603 does what it does at the price it is very well but in terms of pure audio performance your KI combination performs way above its price point even to this day ! I have the same combo (PM66Ki and CD63Ki) myself and it's still performing brilliantly as a 2nd system in my bedroom after all these years !

As another very satisfied CD63/PM66 'KI Twins' devotee, I too will be surprised if that classic 90s combo is beaten by a '603. But I'd love to hear your opinion when your '603 arrives. Will you let us know your verdict? 8)

I used to run the Marantz PM6010 KI and cd63 KI with a set of Tannoy DC2000's........great combo!!
