Yes a big thank you to Vladamir for the sleek new logo who kindley offered to design it for me the only thing he wanted in return was a picture of the inside of my speakers!! I like it so much I'm having some profiled domed badges made up in silver to adorn the speakers, see what we can do when we pull together? Now have I told you about my new range of mega cables? On that note back to the SEO..

He has also offered to do me a proper website FOC! However although appreciated part of doing this project is to learn new skills and share interests. With my new limited web skills I'm going to build a site for Mac's Music (Macspur), who in turn provides great music selections for us, and his fellow blind subscribers. All you peeps into Acoustic, singer songwriters, Alt modern Folk and just amazing singers check out www.macsmusic.bubble.net

Well apart from the Abrahamsen amp arriving and not working, the badges arrived for the speakers. I have to say the experience with the company who made them was outstanding he was helpful and knowledgeable. Anyway here is Vlad's esign in the flesh! and just worked out how to post larger picture Eureka!

Hi Michael, yes, had one coat of lacquer looked good, I went in and "de knibed" rubbing down with 1500 wet and dry to take the slight high spots out and to key the final finish lacquer, suprising amount of hand work required in order to obtain that mirror finish. A friend of a friend came around last night, he builds contract furniture and is hopfully going to take the build over. He does this sort of build day in day out. He's has some specialist MDF clear primer that will enable an easy perfect finish, £20 litre. But he said its superb. Hopfully ill get the speakers back from the paint shop after they have polished them tomorow, I then have to mount the drivers and fit the plinth before I start my photo session!

Ye I ordered more of those. Its actually silver, should of taken them out of the bag! In the flesh I like the black ones, but I think the silver will be more subtle.

I have the finished polished cabinets back from my spray shop. To be totally honest they are not as perfect as I want OR WILL be. I have Moralls and Sayerlack coming to meet my painter in order to get specific wood finishing products. Polyester is the best product to use. Also the MDF sealer and primer will solve most of the issues, its about £25 a litre but creates a perfect finish. So finish the build tomorrow and take photo's if they are good enough if not then they are scrap!

So here are the first pair made. Not perfect, not good enough to sell. The samples of primer from the company did the job and creates a perfect finish. Also the plinths are softwood we will use hardwood. Not sure if i like the contrast now? So next up is the S2 finished in Santos Rosewood.

Though not as cheap or easy, I personally I prefer black metal outriggors (aesthetics/stability), especially with Piano Gloss finish.

Even Behringer sells iQ speakers. Personally, I would choose a name that's easy to Google. I won't be surprised if your iQ speakers end up on page 3 of Google search (unless you pay them to bump it up).
Be suprised! Caveat I hear Google learn what you search for and presents answers to your searches so I may be flattering myself good god no! When I search iq speakers I see us come No 3 page one! let me know if you are seeing different? Also IPL Acoustics, I now come just under IPL Acoustics. Im working on Abrahamsen Amplifier now. Many many hours into the early hours, but you dont notice it, its like a drug, a challange to get there bizarlly I enjoy it and done it many times, maybe I should do it for a living!

Review from a chap I know who runs a Piano manufacturer, Dale Forty, we have one that is 100 years old! He is also a music producer, musician, HiFi enthusiast and collector of Classic HiFi equipment any way here goes:

Hi Colin,
I have just spent a week in the company of these great little floor standing speakers, and they are truly a revelation in terms of imagery and soundstage. Bass is good and solid, and there’s a real illusion of artists being ‘in the room’ especially on acoustic guitar and female vocals. They were best in my installation when the volume is at higher levels, not because of inefficiency, (they’re not!) but because the soundstage appears to open up a bit more at higher volumes. This may be partly because this pair is only barely run-in, or a function of the small room size which is less than ideal. They were particularly sweet sounding on the end of a pair of original Quad valve amplifiers, but in general, listening of digital sources was via an Arcam rDAC, and analogue was a Garrard 401 with Denon DL103 through a Naim 32.5/HiCAP/160. A bargain at the price!
