becuase on marantz usa or global site there is not anymore in the list

but it's still on sale on many stores

I’ve not seen anything saying it’s discontinued, but you’ll notice it’s the only series left with that styling. The newer amps all look quite different, as do the disc players and streamers.

So at least timewise due for a change although I'm sure many other factors may influence this.

but i think they will not change it

I've not had a Marantz amp yet but had the CD6004 for years until I changed it for a CD6007 last year because of its hi res capability, it might sound a teeny bit better.

That's what I was thinking. How many more improvements can they make and how cost effective would they be? I suppose that hi fi companies like to refresh their products regularly otherwise they look old and outdated? Also, if stock is running low I suppose you may as well make some changes rather than doing another production run of an 'old' product.

I think the changes are often as you say because the original 50,000* unit batch has run out, or a vital component has been discontinued. Also, as you say, the never ending need to look new, get more reviews, etc!

Al way launch at £499 then £350 within a year, that is my only dislike with Marantz. Oh, and UK tuned editions, which has a long history thanks to Ken I.

* It would be interesting to know but those numbers seem to be kept confidential it seems. It would also be interesting to know if they do a big production run that would last them for years or if they manufacture in smaller batch runs over time. I recall that the CD6007 had a problem with its original DAC chip so had to be substituted for another so that would suggest the latter.

OP for a similar or lesser amount you can get better amplification with the discontinued and still excellent Rotel RA-1062.
