JoelSim:....and a chick in the background....

Sounds about right. Nothing changes.

JoelSim:When the cost of a business flight is upwards of £1k you have to look reasonably upmarket, albeit in an informal way

The three dudes in the photo and in the BMI website video look like the same three £15,000 a year office employees you might find in any McDonalds of a lunch hour.

Check out video number 7 in the BMI link. "The Local". The girl's body language is screaming.. "Get lost you boring, boring little man". She even seems to have clenched hair! The three dudes at the bar have certainly grown a little fonder of each other though. Hopefully that was intentional.

Thanks for the link.

It is a hoot.

Seriously, very professional. Nice slick piece Joel. My company would love that sort of thing too. Totally unreal but very much how the directors of these sort of outfits like their businesses to be seen. It is where the £s are that count and I hope you get a lot more work based on this.

You may be able to upgrade to Naim then

JoelSim:Alpha male Chebby? Yes the one with the greying hair in your photo playing with his... err keys. He is leaning into the other two and they are leaning back against the bar and look like they are having to laugh at his rubbish jokes because he is their boss.

Personally, I feel that the effectiveness of this TEAC ad really depends on where it's shown. Fine in Loaded, not so fine in a specialist hifi rag.

Avid do the same thing and really undersell themselves.

Yes the silver fox you are referring to made several of the girls on the shoot swoon when he took his top off, it was like hilarious seeing the girls getting all worked up. My beer belly doesn't have the same effect tho'

He was actually a really nice, unassuming guy and we'll use him again. Surf dude in real life in fact.

And as for upgrading to Naim, I think that's more unlikely than the female model appearing at my front door at midnight wearing nothing but a coat.

With her two best friends.

But I thought you were always grizzling that we weren't a specialist hifi rag. You can't have it both ways...

BTW

JoelSim:....and a chick in the background....

hardly puts you in a position to debate non-PC ads...

BTW2

JoelSim:http://www.flybmi.com/bmi/en-gb/the-experience/bmi-no.-1-heathrow.aspx

I clicked, but I seem to have got the establishing shots from a non-ironic episode of Hotel Babylon...

LOL.

You are obviously one of the 0.2% that have to use html rather than flash. (or so I'm told)

Andrew Everard:You were told wrong: no problems with Flash Player at this end...

This point matters.

'Hud', 'Dazzle' and 'Griff' (or whatever the three C&A blokes were called) will not buy you a drink in the BMI bar unless you have Flash.

The silver surfer will not flash his teeth and pat you on the shoulder (in a purely Corporate colleague way of course) and 'Ms Background Chick' won't unclench her hair and allow you Bluetooth access to swap Facebook details or compare pie charts of annual growth.

You would be alone with the wall-paper and the greyhound and no-one to 'leverage your synergies' with.

Sorry, could you put that together as a PowerPoint presentation over about 150 slides, then show it on a screen using a slightly out of focus executive mobile mini-projector that takes about half an hour to sync with your roadwarrior laptop, and read every single word that appears in it out to me?

It'll cost you

Yes, 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back, when I could have got all the details in about 10 mins by using the newfangled technique of 'reading'...

chebby:I hope you wrote that on the - inevitable - feedback form.

Yes, and reiterated the point in the post-meeting meeting where we discussed what we'd put on our feedback forms. And were shown (and read) a PowerPoint presentation on the results of the feedback forms.

Those Naim factory visits aren't what they used to be, are they?
