Shame that you'd actually posed a valid argument but then spoilt it with the pathetic, sarcastic and cliched 'fashion house' line....

You should have seen it before Fr0g edited it, aparently we are 'golums' for liking shiny things...

This gollum just pre-ordered a precious 🙂

Nice one 🙂

I'm with 02 whose pre-order only just came online, so I suspect I won't get mine as fast as you. I've gone up from 32gb to 64gb as I recently put the music quality back up to 256k and had to cut loads of music out, now I can put it all back on 🙂

The main reason I dont buy Apple, is I dont like being taken advantage of.

The Iphone5 is a good example. My Htc One X has a much bigger screen, cpu twice as fast, - and yet over 2 years the 32GB version will cost £507 more than my Htc One X on same minutes/text/data.

I would also NEVER buy anything before its been reviewed and ALL the specs disclosed. To me thats just crazy.

I just laugh when I see the cable saga. But people still put up with it.

I just laugh when I see people talk about things like CPU speed. I really don't give a monkeys. My iPhone 4 is perfectly fast enough for all I require and I'm sure the 5 will be at least as fast. Obviously, different people have different priorities.

Everyone has individual considerations for cost as well. I've chosen to pay a fair whack up front, but I'm reducing my monthly tariff by £10 p/m (whilst doubling my data allowance) which over the course of the contract and including the money I get for recycling my existing phone works out as neutral cost. That is before taking into account the huge personal benefit of the extra built in capacity and the fact I can set off part of the cost of the phone against vat and tax due to my business use of it.

I'm very happy 🙂

Ah, so you hadn't missed anything, you've just decided to start expressing your point in a very childish way. I don't see how that helps anyone, very much including yourself.

I edited as I thought it was unfair. It was intended as a joke, but as you saw, came across as a general insult which wasn't intended.

And I don't really like the patronising and overbearingly smug folk who assume that everybody who buys an Apple device is some dumb, sheeplike idiot who's unable to think for themselves. Everything I purchase gets a thorough review beforehand, including (where possible) hands on comparisons with the competition. I don't like the Android OS, plain and simple. I do like iOS, plain and simple. So, at the moment, I have an iPhone. Same for Mac computers. They cost more, but I think the extra cost is worth my preference for the interface - which is far more important than things like the speed of the CPU or the amount of RAM is installed if you ask me. Whether anyone else agrees with that decision or not is irrelevant. I'd certainly think nothing of someone who bought an Andriod phone if they prefer them (even if it were more expensive) - why would I?

My next phone might be a Windows 8 phone - now they're out, when it comes time for me to upgrade, I'll definitely try it out before making a decision. If there's a new Android OS at that point, I'll try that out too. And if neither of them stack up to my experience of iOS 6 / 7, then I'll get an iPhone. It's not a religion or a cult, it's just a preference.

Just like we put up with your constant predictable anti-Apple drivel.....

Yeah Great news Ben,Just asked vodaphone to send me a nano sim for it as I want to keep my same account and Mob No.Reason I went for 32 is I keep half my tracks on my iPad,which i always have with me anyway.

My 18 month iPhone 4 contract runs out at the beginning of December. (Beginning of November if I upgrade.)

As things stand, my iPhone 5 will cost me £1 less per month (with double my present data allowance).

I will also get a fairly good trade-in value for the old iP4. Enough, after the £30 one-time charge for the iP5 is deducted, to buy half a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" (Wi-fi only) or half of an iPad Mini if it exists by then.

Hopefully November is long enough for any iP5 bugs to have emerged 'in the field' (sorry) and be rectified.

Only one question, can I 'tether' a Samsung tablet using an iPhone (as 'personal hotspot') or will they 'fight'?

Not fussed about 4GEE. Our city probably won't even get it until at least 2014. So that is irrelevant until - probably - the end of my next contract.

It "should" work. But a friends iPad 2 couldn't connect to my HTC hotspot when I tried it (twice) for some reason. But I know it "can" work.

Sorry to be totally unhelpful. ;(

My iPad 2 easily connects to my HTC hotspot. Never had a problem.

With the iPhone though, your service provider will have to enable tethering on your phone.

Ah, nice one Rodhas, that sounds like a good setup 🙂 I've not yet been able to justify to myself the cost of an iPad but plan to get a kindle fire HD (or iPad mini if not too much more) towards the end of the year 🙂

I'm surprised. The Ipad is the one Apple product that is actually good value compared to the opposition.

Its got a really nice screen, although its a little sluggish compared to the jellybean nexus.

Its one true competitor the Asus Infinity Pad is £200 more although it does include a keyboard dock and is a lot faster.

You seem to be having a conversation with yourself.
