After owning all three over Xmas I came to the conclusion there is virtually nothing to pick between the three. The retina screen doesn't improve things by much, and the operating systems are all pretty much the same. I would say don't upgrade at the moment if you are thinking about it.

I've ipad 2 and i don't want to upgrade, for now... The only thing that bothers me is the picture camera resolution, very poor quality!

Doen't the ipad 4 have a better picture quality resolution?

Taking pictures on the Air was quite good but still not worth the upgrade for me.

The retina screen is a huge difference! It's like going from standard def to high def! Saying that, some people can't even see that difference...

im glad someone agrees, I thought I was going mental! I don't need reading glasses, do you David? ;)

Well, I have looked at the iPad air and think he display is oodles better than my current ipad 2. Mrs J has expressed an interest in my ipad 2 so a shopping trip will shortly be in order.

The ipad air is pretty much identical to the ipad 4 with retina BUT if I gave you the ipad air to use for an hour then the ipad 4 you wouldn't want to use the ipad 4 given the choice .the lighter and thinner spec is massive.

I used the Air all over Xmas and couldn't stand it! It went straight back. The sound is poor and the shape is horrible!

Not to see that sort of difference!

Looking at non retina now is like sitting a foot away from a CRT television...

Each to their own IMO the air is far more comfortable to use than the ipad 4.as for the shape I don't understand what people are going on about and as for the music I cannot comment as the sound is going through my Bluetooth wireless speakers.

Owned 2 x iPad 2's and an iPad mini and the improvement of the iPad Air over the iPad 2 are massive, though saying that the iPad 2 still does everything the iPad Air does. I would not buy an iPad 2 new your better off spending that little extra to future proof with the A7 cpu.

I do prefer the size and weight of the ipad mini though,

The one thing i still do not like is iOS 7 its just not finished far to many bugs
