Hi everyone, I'm looking for advice on choosing a replacement integrated amp for my conventional turntable-based system, which consists of:
  • Pro-ject 1 Xpression turntable
  • KEF Q4 floorstanding speakers
Both of these are around 20 years old. The Arcam A65 Plus amp I've been using needs replacing. While most of my listening will be through the speakers, family life means that I need to be able to listen through my wireless headphones (SONY WH-1000XM3) when necessary and also accommodate the streamers in the house.

So my must-haves for the amp are:
  • quality phono input
  • bluetooth output to wireless headphones
  • bluetooth input so that my digital-loving family can also play through it
Nice-to-have would be:
  • tone controls
Budget-wise I could stretch to £800 (but my wife would be happier if it were less). So far I have found amps which have the bluetooth output but not the input (e.g. the Arcam A5); and conversely others (such as the Audiolab 6000A Play) which have the bluetooth input but not the output.

I wonder whether any of you lovely people could suggest an amp which would fit the bill? Does such a beast exist? Any help much appreciated!

Hi PJM,

I will also vote for new Arcam Radia A5 as very talented and universal amp. Audiolab 6000A is also very good, A5 a bit better with similar price. New Rega Brio mk7 is also very good but without Bluuetooth connection and more expensive. Phono preamp in the Rega Brio is the best from this group. Therefore new Arcam A5 + BT receiver seems like best possiible option. And price 699 pounds is within your budget. BR.😉
