If you have to wait a couple of weeks for the tv anyway why not cancel the player and buy it cheaper later? You can get your £30 odd quid but you may get a deal buying it at the same time as your tv? It's free money 🙂
I wanted to demo the Panasonic OLED in 4K and HDR. *wink*

But you've sold it now. Shouldn't you be making sure to get that packaged and couriered ASAP? (Not screwing your customer by waiting for your 4K player to arrive first so you can demo it before posting the TV.)

Or have you now cancelled the sale of the Panasonic? (I see it's back in your signature.)

Confused.

You are all over the place. (Including two Richer Sounds threads.)
Not sold the Panasonic yet being collected on Saturday. So I am going to give the guy the best demo possible on 4K HDR blu Ray. I will then revert back to my old Sony 46hx803 TV.

Technically, yes, but why would you want to return it? It's digital, so quality will be the same.

Remember that it's the process of constant returns that would make retailers think twice about offering you discounts. Nugget managed to get a good deal because he was a loyal customer of Richer Sounds.

im happy with my 1080p plasma. It's too early for 4K, expensive, issues with players etc etc etc.......

Okay, had it in 1080p now in 4K HDR. It's the same no difference.

Cheers, just going to have a second demo.

Actually the settings have all been messed up, what's the calibrated settings for this TV? Looks like I have got to re-enter them?

This is why I keep on at you to be precise, Gel. I haven't a clue, with all your changes of mind over the last 72 hours, what "this TV" means.

Panasonic OLED. I can't get the settings right, they are all on 100 per cent!

That appears to be what HDR mode does to the TV - throttles the overall system to allow it to hit its peak brightness - then the rest is controlled via metadata

I can't get used to this, haven't a clue what I am doing either!

I am sure he tried to calibrate it for HDR but its so new how can you predict how things will work until they in the field - you cant.

There is still not a definitive HDR spec to follow for calibration I dont think

At the beginning of this thread you said the tv had been calibrated. (Post 13 on first page.)

Presumably the chap who did this left a record of all the settings (just in case).

i did this for my humble 32" five years ago when I applied HDTVTests setting's and adapted them for my screen.

It's in the same folder of instruction manuals, photos of receipts and warranties and other useful stuff I keep on all of our computers (and backups) for everything from fridges to details of when the boiler was last serviced.

Hopefully your calibrator chap can email you his copy of the settings.
