One major plus of hdr is to have ever more shadow detail available

Solid black is wrong mate I hate solid Black you can get that from zone led system from Sony but it looks pony compared to proper shadow detail.

That's what gives the image it's depth

It looks much better than my old LG on other scenes and it is the better TV no doubt. I could see that straight away.

Yep. It would probably be crazy to sell it and change for the new LG right?

Gel, just remind your self you are watching 1080p bluray and not 4K Bluray, so there will be a less quality because your to will be up scaling the 1080p BD.

Can I ask, why do you always want the latest and best products? There is more to life than materialistic things...

I have my own share of tech but it's not the latest and I have a plasma. However, I'm happy with what I've got and will upgrade, but only when I am ready and when funds are available. You could have put a massive deposit down on a house with all the money you've spent in the last 2 years.. You are wasting money mate! :)
I can't get a mortgage though! I can't get work either but point taken and my spending will ease. It's under control just. I still have some money. Cheers mate.

I think I am going to keep with the Panasonic because it looks great on 2D, 3D and 4K just waiting for HDR now and based on my demo of the LG 55eg960 at John Lewis on HDR it's going to look great!

nice 1 - but you know where I'm coming from, save your money and use it on other things such as leisure activities, it will help with your health and wellbeing...

Im into mountain biking and my last bike cost me 3.5 K but it's a healthier investment and keeps my fit and releases happy endorphins ... I'm a lot happier and more positive mate! Although I do think of selling my bike and buying a projector, but that's just going to have a negative effect on my happiness...

Yep, I know what you are saying. Cheers. I do have a little stash of cash for a rainy day or deposit for a house. I can't see me working though. I am currently going after another voluntary job with the council. I don't drive either so don't have to worry about a car and the costs there. It's £5900 I have spent on TV and 4K Blu-Ray player. Now I will save again.

Gel did mention that he doesn't smoke or drink, and doesn't drive. He lives with his parents. So he must be saving the benefits he gets.
