All this time you were posting pics I'd imagined this was you living room!

It's all extremely nice, mate, and looking very tidy. *smile*

I don't know your room dimensions. The fireplace gets in the way a little, so you have a fair amount of space between TV and front right speaker.

In the interests of symmetry, acoustics, and possibly feng shui, I wonder if there's a way of arranging furniture, so your left and right channels sit the same distance from your screen. Not that I want to be responsible for major replanning!

Nope, got 3 living rooms downstairs. *smile*. One with my dad's Pioneer setup, one with the Sony hx803 and one with the Sony 40lx901. I did once have the opportunity to wall mount the speakers but turned it down in the end. Cheers mate.

you can have a gas fire without a chimney breast. There are flues in the stud Walls on modern houses.. But it's not real as gel has explained..

Your 4K OLED is not equidistant between your front left and right speakers - for me, that would be a serious distraction, but each to his own.

Mines not either, but that is just the way things have turned out, room layout ect.

I endorse bigboss and simonlewis in posts #443 and #444. Having the display so much over to one side, not centrally between the speakers, goes against all the Dolby, Audyssey, and every other recommendation that I can think of! Centralising the display between the front speakers should absolutely be your next step, gel, before you buy anything else!! At present it is very lopsided! But, as I said, each to his own.

In all four of my rooms, the television is central between the front (and in all rooms except the front bedroom, the presence or front height) loudspeakers - not by accident, I made sure that it was that way. Also, in all rooms the surround and rear speakers are also symmetrically positioned around the televisions. Surely it's not a good audio-visual experience to have sounds emanating so close to the one side of your (very expensive) display??

I would move the mirror and wall mount the TV above the fireplace. It would be a bit high but at least in the middle of the wall and then you could have your speakers either side of it. It looks too crushed in the corner where it is.

Alternatively move the TV downstairs into one of the living rooms and put one of the smaller TVs in your bedroom instead.

I don't think the fireplace is even needed, especially if it's fake and in a bedroom. Given that it's a bedroom, the viewing distance will be much less, resulting in sprained necks.

Gel lives with his parents, so probably his stuff will be in his room. I may be wrong.

Actually speaking to my parents it's an electric fire. I highly doubt my parents would let me alter the room though. The walls are not that strong for wall mounting the TV.

The house has just been re-done in a lot of the rooms too.

true but I guess he watches TV sitting or lying on his bed so it is more natural to look up compared to sitting in a chair or sofa.

I just think the Tv should be in the middle of the wall rather than in the corner, even if he moved his stand in front of the fake fire place so then his speakers will be equal distance apart and the sound would be much better.
