Hi, is it possible to connect a laptop to a tv without d-sub when a laptop dont have dvi? TV set has following connectivity: Ext 1 Scart: Audio L/R CVBS in/out RGB Ext 2 Scart: Audio L/R CVBS in/out RGB S-video in Ext 3: YPbPr Ext 4: HDMI Ext 5: HDMI Front / Side connections: Audio L/R in CVBS in Headphone out S-video in USB Other connections: Analog audio Left/Right out S/PDIF in (coaxial) S/PDIF out (coaxial) i'd like to buy a set and use it also as a second monitor but dont have dvi is there any other possibility without loosing picture quality, for example using some connectors?

You dont say what type of tv you have, is it lcd? plasma or a crt?
Anyway have a look here http://www.keene.co.uk/ as these guys have all sorts of conecteor and switch boxes to convert most signals from one type to another.

sorry for lack of information...
this is a LCD tv Philips 32PFL7562D, and indeed, my laptop has s-video, but doesn't it provide poor quality?
so which way would be better s-video or d-sub-->conector-->dvi?

D-sub - DVI should be better, but it depends what quality you want from your computer. S-vid would certainly be the least expensive way of doing it...

thank you Andrew for advice
I will need quality as good as possible 😉 for watching dvds, x264 hd rips and games
I'd rather pay more for d-sub - dvi option than s-vid and loosing quality

a little bit of googling and i found those:

cable
and
connector

can those be of help?
