how level??

how level should the speakers and speakers stands be when using spikes bearing in mind the floor is probably not level. so far i dont my best to get them level but i can still feel a slight rock( not sure if that is me rocking them too hard though).

What sort of floor and are the spikes adjustable?

Try to get as little rocking as possible, and borrow a little spirit level (don't scratch the speakers)....it'll mean you have one less thing to obsess about. 😉

They need to be as stable as possible (no 'rocking' at all).

They shouldnt rock and they should be level. They should also be aligned with each other. Time spent in the correct placement is well worth it.

Too late for for that. I have already scracthed the top of the sub when i turn it over to adjust the spikes. I think i have it pretty stable at the moment( well as stable as it will get anyway).
