Chebby has made some good choices on the 2nd hand front, I've had all four decks and the dual is the pick of the bunch, the 505-2 is the one to go for as it's easier to swap cartridges although it's lightweight in build it sounds great. The sansui 222 is another great deck well built and looks fantastic, you can pick them up for between £20.00 to £40.00 for the dual, no more than that and £35.00 to £70.00 for the 222. the trio and pioneer are basically the same deck and can be picked up for about £20.00 in good condition, i still have the kd 1033 as a back up and use it in my bedroom system but if your new to vinyl you have to know what you looking for so maybe a new deck is the way to go. By all means have a listen to the genie but look out for the Mk ll version as it's better built with a few more enhancements but still at the same price. It comes with ortofon om5 cartridge which is easily upgradeable by changing the stylus. Good luck and let us know how you get on. All the best, Gregory.
