The cheap Audio Technica AT-120XUSB also has a 78rpm facility, you can buy 78rpm adapters for some Pro-ject decks and Rega do a 78rpm only deck. The only turntable that springs to mind with 78 is the ClearAudio Concept, which IMO is an excellent all-round table. They also come with MM and MC cartridges.
£2500 would get you the basic Prima Luna EVO 100 amp if indeed valves were required, it only outputs 40wpc but should be sufficient. Note: an external phono preamp would also need to be purchased.Technics 1500c and above do 78rpm with no fuss just a button press (well 2 at the same time) get what ever stylus you like. I quite like nag. Currently have the 150mp. couldn't recommend a mono stylus i have no desire to use one so no experiance.
Amps id look at musical fidelity, sugden if you fancy the class A sound and if you must have valves prima luna
though not sure how much they are these days. All should drive the ls50 to room-filling levels.
Naims newly released limited run Nait looks to be very good also. And can pretty much drive anything looking that spec sheet. And a true investment piece which is rare in hifi circles.
but in the 1500-2.5k there are plenty to choose from.
Funny that it's just popped up on my Facebook. It's certainly an excellent dealI'm not sure if the op's budget will stretch to this, but I was on the bay and came across a Avid Volvere with origin live onyx mkii....£2295.....rrp over 7k..
.....and a 12 month warranty to boot from elite audio.Funny that it's just popped up on my Facebook. It's certainly an excellent deal
Well he did say up to £2500 on each so it leaves a bit for the cartridge......and a 12 month warranty to boot from elite audio.

Quite a few Thorens decks like the 148a have 78rpm facility.
Just been looking at the Origin Live/Onyx, it looks good but fear it would be an overkill for my amp.If you don't require 78rpm there's not much around that will better an Origin Live Aurora / Onyx or even Silver combination plus a decent cartridge
Same here....I'd need to sell some of my other gear though....and I can't really be bothered atm..lol....but that Volvere is probably a end game tt for me.Well he did say up to £2500 on each so it leaves a bit for the cartridge.
I'd be on that like a shot if I intended to by with that sort of budget.
Avid turntables are very, very good.
Hey PP.....your source can never be overkill....The Lynn and Naim moto " source first" as I'm sure you are very much aware...and I'm sure this applies to turntables (and their accessories) more than today's contemporary streamers/dacs etc.Just been looking at the Origin Live/Onyx, it looks good but fear it would be an overkill for my amp.
