Question Horrible buzzing sound with LG C5 and ext DAC!

Following my recent query on this forum, I purchased a Topping E3011 Lite for my new LG 55 C5 tv.

After setting this up, the Live TV works ok but all streaming services just make a horrible buzzing sound

I can't see any setting which might fix this

Can anyone advise please??

Maybe you can explain how you are connecting these together, and where does the feed from the DAC go?

I’m not very knowledgeable on these things but having a clear picture of what you’ve set up should help if diagnosis is possible on line.

PS. Found your earlier post. Do you need to set PCM or something in your telly’s digital out menu? There must be something different being output from streaming in contrast to live?

Digital optical out --> external Topping DAC --> RCA to 3.5mm cable --> Logitech Z623 2.1 speakers

I tried restricting C5 digital output to PCM only (rather than auto) but that didn't solve it

Weirdly what did cure it was changing C5 sound output to digital out+TV speaker (rather than just digital optical out only)

Perhaps some knowledgeable person on here can explain why that worked!

does it have a pass through setting ? try that if it has.

Yes I tried that as well (with digital optical output only selected) - still got the buzzing

is the WOW setting off on the tv? and try updating the TV .
