Hi Guys

A customer of mine has come to me with a problem. He has been let down by his installer. They have wired up a 5.1 surround sound setup in his living room with in ceiling speakers and ran all the speaker cables back to a data cupbored, I know how to setup surround sound fine, but if the amp is in the cupbored how are you going to control it from the living room???/

Custom installers often use some fancy central controllers like a clestron or similar. But you could simply use an infra red extender kit sold by the likes of lektropacks or Keene. Or you could look at a harmony 1100 which converters the IR to RF. I personally use a think flood redeye ( using wifi) which allows me to use my iPad/iPhone to control everything, Gear 4 also do some thing called the unity which uses Bluetooth for the iPad / iPod / iPhone.
