HELP!! Yamaha DSP A3090 Amplifier/Unit Intermittently Switching Off!?

Hi to all-am new to the forum and would appreciate some help.

I bought in superb condition the above unit-which I am using as an amplifier to my Pioneer Hi-Fi unit. Luckily I have the specific and dedicated remote for it- I have a small problem-it will amplify a certain VOLUME on the dial-any increase and the whole unit 'cuts out/switches off'? It's infuriating as there are times when i want the volume up a bit?? The volume dial generally will not alow above #3 then POW! it's out!

Sounds like the protection circuit is activating, check all your speaker connections and cable for problems, also check to make sure the amp is setup for the speaker setup you have.

In addition make sure your speakers are suitable for use with the amp. (Impedance in ohms)

BTW how have you connected up your system, you haven’t connected the Hi Fi amp and the AV amp to the same speakers have you.

Without more info it is difficult to diagnose.
