I'm new to DLNA and am trying to connect my Sony TV & Blu-Ray to my Mac with limited/no success. I've tried several programs to assist with this including Twonky, PS3 Server & Vuze. As the Mac as no inbuilt DLNA abilities i am at a loss as what to try next.

Any advice would be great as I want to play AVCHD videos, stored on my hard drives as my poor old Mac can't handle the bit rates.

Thanks.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean by 'can't handle the bitrates'?

I had no problem connecting either of my Sonys to Twonky (or indeed Elgato EyeConnect, though I never tried it with video) on my iMac, but the clients see content but can't necessarily play it when it gets there. Are you sure the Sony can play AVCHD?

EDIT - just checked specs and Sony say yes to AVCHD.

I video in AVCHD @ 17MBits and poor Mac freezes and stutters on playback. Used SD cards before in Blu-Ray player & had great results, but as you can Imagen the files are quite big. This is why I hoped to play them back over the DLNA network.
