No joke ! Just was wondering if others have tried these cables.

What hdmi cable are you using ?

I think he was referring to the fact that a) HDMI cables meet standards. Providing they meet a particular standard then they are going to transmit the same data so any change you may experience is not becuase of the cable - see here - http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/home-entertainment/1292371/expensive-hdmi-cables-make-no-difference-the-absolute-proof and b) when people say that their SO could hear/see the difference it usually means as much as a fart in a jacuzzi.

Well if that is so , why is it then when watching the opening scene of Batman the Keith Ledger one, all my other cables cause flicker and distortion to varying degrees on the office buildings square windows as the camera pans in ? When the masked men slide down the rope to roof top below the picture processing of the stone pebbles on the roof is all messy and confused? Then with the aforementioned cables these issues are resolved and the picture is much more stable and clearer. I am using a Cambridge Audio BD 751, Denon Avr 2312 and a Philips 46pfl7007 . Maybe its all down to quality control and all the other expansive cables I have experimented with fell short?

That's close-minded and ignorant. You should actually do a bit of research into the topic. After all, this discussion has run its course many times before. It is like you are trying to argue that the world is flat. Manufacturers will tell you that digital cables are not the same, but why wouldn't they? It's how they make a profit, selling their equipment to anyone gullible enough to take it seriously. I use a cheapo ten-buck cable for my TV. I just threw on The Dark Knight. That intro scene is pristine. I suggest that a.) One of your cables is, in fact, faulty, leading you to believe that one is better than another, or b.) You are both cable salesmen in disguise.

So all the other cables have been faulty ? I noticed on my new cable it runs to 17.8 Gigabit which is faster than the other cables . So that's its secret . I bought one for my in laws and they initially thought i had bought them a new tv as the picture was so improved over the standard hdmi supplied by sky.

Well for a few quid and as i needed a new cable to run a new bit of kit , I have not been disappointed . Best cable i have ever experienced and for a third of the price . Thanks for your feedback I appreciate it .

How did you measure 17.8 Gigabit? HDMI specs are pretty clear, so I don't understand what you mean by "faster". HDMI 1.4 requires a cable to be at least 10.2 Gigabits. Beyond that, it doesn't matter how fast it is. If the cables had behaved differently, they would not have passed to get HDMI certification.

Batman the Keith Ledger one

There's one in the eye for all those people who think saying 'if there was anything in this digital cables thing then a different printer wire would change the way the words came out' is the most original joke ever! ;-)

Speed is quoted by the manufacture . Plus 4k will demand even faster cables. I always keep an open mind about things , I was not happy with the picture issues , so before investing in a really expensive cable and having read up that there is no difference in cables , I thought I would give this company a go , before purchasing a new TV. My last one a lg 42 le5900 lasted 7 months before I got the Philips. Glad I did, as for the price of a 3m cable that I had , I replaced the whole lot and what a difference it makes. Plus I got exact lengths so my kit is nice and tidier. My initial question was that I was interested in others experience of these cables ? Glad they worked for me as I was going to bin the Philips and get another tv

1080p pictures require 4.5Mbps speed, and we're talking about Gbps speed here, which is more than 1000 times. Speed has nothing to do with your findings.

HDMI.org have already specified what's needed for 4K, so there's no need to assume anything. Current 1.4 specification can pass 4K upto 30fps. If you want 4K with 50-60fps, you'll need a higher spec HDMi2.0 cable.

So my £14.49 cable will be no different from a £150 cable?

Why in the review sections do they bang on about this then?

I bought a cheap cable as an experiment and it has improved my picture and stopped the issues I was having.

I pop the old cables in and bang the issues are back.

I've had freinds round and they have noticed it too.

My in laws have noticed it on their telly too!

Again, I was asking if anyone had tried these cables that was all.

I will try the Chroma 6 and 7 out of interest.

Because they are experiencing a placebo effect and expectation bais. Go back and read the link I posted.

yep, if you have issues with the older cables, they are duff.

You are aware that lines like that are de rigur on here and actually mean nowt. I could say my dog came in with his ears perked up when I put in new speaker cable. It's subjective and doesn't carry any weight.

yes, we know, you keep saying the same thing....

If you really want to try again, why don't you buy some new cables of the same brands you've had problems with? If they don't exhibit the same issues, you'll know that they were faulty.

How long have you had the old cables for? Maybe you can replace them under warranty. :?

Ok, so I have four brands of cable that are duff , unlikely !

I have read your article.

I will try the chroma to see if I can buy another duff cable.

anyway I have a cheap cable for 15 quid that is not duff ! What a result !
