I picked up one of the cheap RP1s recently and have a AT95e sitting unused which is probably going to be better than the stock Carbon(?) but just wanted to check that it wouldn't require spacers or any other faffing beyond the usual setting up?

Jim-W said:Hi. The Rega Carbon is a modified AT91; the mod is a carbon cantilever which some of the old AT91's already had. It's a decent sounding cartridge with ample bass weight and a surprisingly full-bodied sound. It sounds far better than the budget Ortofon that used to come as standard with the RP!. The Carbon has been well-received by reviewers. I'd be inclined to give it a listen before you change anything as I don't think you'd notice that much difference.

The Dynavector is supposedly brilliant. I'd like one for an LP12. Should be great with an RP6. Be interesting to read your comments about the sound quality- I might use them to justify spending £300 on a cartridge.
