Not bad - we gave it a solid four-star rating back in our July issue last year, praising its good off-air TV performance.

However, it's not Full HD or 24fps-ready, which for a screen of this size could be an issue if you're planning to hook up a Blu-ray player or HD games console. TVs have moved on an incredible amount in 9 months...

£1000 is really pushing it for a decent-quality 50in, Full HD TV. However, you don't have to spend much more to get a five-star set: i've seen the Samsung PS-50P96FD - which was five-star rated at a list price of £1900 - for £1200, at Empire Direct (and i'm sure there are others).

[/quote]Clare is the above mentioned Samsung capible of displaying 1080p at a true 24fps? I ask this as my Samsung PS-50Q97hdx has developed a serious screen fault and my Retailer say I can upgrade to the PS-50P96FD for not very much money.
