a big thank you to who ever mentioned this album in a post earlier today - massive fan of august and everthing after and this album had kind of just got lost in my cd collection and can't rem ever really sitting down and just listening to it and wow what a great album - great songs - sounds fantastic. rediscoverd!!!

Seconded. Great album. 'American Girls' is a top tune, along with with the slow, meloncholic tune that I can't remember the name of. I think it's track 9 and I think it might be called 'Black and Blue'.

If you're like me, you'll find it a real grower of an album. I remember not liking it at all when I first heard it, back in 2002. I'm a real big CC fan though, so listened to it every day in the motor on the way to work. Within a week I was a convert and have loved it since.

Do you like the other albums?

If you don't have it, 'Across a wire' is brilliant. It's their live double album. Disc one is an all electric gig and disc two is their 'VH1 - Storytellers' acoustic gig. Well worth buying.

yeah i have them all including the re issue of august and everything after - think thats half the reason this got lost - gave it a go and didn't really grab me now a few years on and a few listens later think was really missing out - still not got in to their last one yet saturday nights sunday morning

Yeah, unfortunately, SN SM is a bit weak, by their standards. Didn't capture me, even after repeated listens.

Any good bonus tracks on the 'August' re-issue?

Saturday Night Sunday Morning is a fantastic CD. The decision to use Gil Norton to produce the SN section and Brian Deck the SM is genius.

Just give it some time.

Think it might be me mentioned Hard Candy. 'Good Time' is one of my reference test tracks as there's lots of left right mix of acoustic guitar, kb, vox, electric guitar, banjo etc. to test. A great tune.

The UK bonus tracks are excellent too - check out Four White Stallions.
