Thank you for letting everyone know, I certanly wouldn't have!.

The Humax does require an update to give all it promised.

I suppose it will take time in different parts of the country before we see the update?

Thanks

For the standard Humax Foxsat, will an upgrade be required for iPlayer?

Does anyone know when iPlayer will be available in London? (assuming it's rolling out region-by-region).

ta.

Good news indeed. I had nothiced the lip sync issue with ITV hd, but as BBC HD was ok, I assumed it was a problem at the ITV end. Improved deletion and IPlayer support are also nice.

will the upgrade be via the satellite dish, or will I need an ethernet cable connected (I know I'll need one at some stage anyway).

The update's will be OTA(over the air),so via satellite. The ethernet ports are currently disabled, so i assume part of the update is to actually activate the port.

Though it will probably also be made available as a download from the Humax support/download centre on release.

Wow. That's exciting.

The Foxsat is long overdue a patch. It's getting to the point where my wife and I have no confidence it will record the programmes we have requested. Doc Martin (my wife's favourite) was a particular problem for us. Don't know if it was something to do with recording ITV HD? Had to resort to sitting round the PC and viewing the programme on ITV Player a few times as it doesn't work with the PS3.

Incidently, will the other "Players" be supported eg ITV?

Done to the download. All appears to be well. Have connected the Hummy to the network (DHCP) and have been looking for the iPlayer option but can't find it. Will investigate.

Looks like it's unavailable on freesat until the end of the year. It is available to a select few but you need to sign up and have a special USB key?

However, I was sort of expecting to be able to use the iPlayer through the ethernet port.

TBH i think they used the word's Support and (subject to service availabilty) for this very reason.

I personally feel they should have omitted that statement from the press release of the update, because from comment's i've seen people are/were expecting to see/and use iplayer once they got the update.

Your right though it is only available to a select few.

So what are they expecting the ethernet port to provide? Updates only?

Before the FoxSat was released, I was hoping for a DLNA client or something.

Before the FoxSat was released, I was hoping for a DLNA client or something. The ethernet port is there for iplayer etc,but i suspect it just wont do much until iplayer is fully released to all freesat users.

As for DLNA client's etc i've no idea TBH,but suspect not.

Does anyone know if the iPlayer will be coming to other Freesat users. I currently view it through my Panasonic TV, but all the reports only seem to mention the Humax
