Hi all. I need to get a HD feed for my fathers tv. He has a 32" sony full hd tv attached to a modern tv aerial. He wants a pvr which offers subscription free tv including the major channels in HD. he does not have broadband or wifi nor ever will have. In your opinions is a freeview + hd box better or would youview be ok for his needs. Simple is also a necessity.

YouView requires connection to Broadband and an aerial.

If your father is never going to have the internet, then just get a normal HD PVR and connect it to the aerial.

Youview requires broadband for the OTT/On demand stuff.

And ultimately pointless unless you get it from BT/talltalk (for the extra content they provide).

Get a freeview box.

My father has a full HD tv i got him a memory stick for it as it can record strait to it in hd, downside is, it only has a single tuner so cant record another channel whilst watching another. It does the job nicely if he's out & only records one programme that doesnt conflict with another.
