Been playing them quite a bit recently. Can only find the Hebden Bridge concert on youtube.

I have a feeling that this was a limited edition CD release, only on sale at the merchandise stall at his/their gigs. I bought my copy at a gig last year.

The Oh Hellos album Dear Wormwood is very decent, especially the title track.

A brother and sister lead group. Saw them at Beautiful Days Festival and was pleasantly surprised.

Between the Minds by Jack Savoretti.

His best album for me

Is it, it's the first one I have heard. Sleep No More is not bad.

Big H, did you see my post about a guy called Daniel Meade? think he might be someone you like.

Sorry yes I did see it, had a quick play, maybe a bit too country for me, I will try it again later if I remember. Talkng of country I came across The Handsome Family who are american folk/country group, thought they were quite good, Singing Bones or Through the Trees probably a good place to start.

I may have been a bit hasty, just been flicking through his back catalogue on Spotify and came across Harder than easy... a lovely acoustic album and Before the storm is quite good.

Another good shout Rog... I featured her and the album Before we forgot how to dream, some time ago on my blog.... oh no I didn't! that was Soak lol! she's worth listening to too though.

See if anyone likes this:

Soak...yass, brilliant talent and had forgotten about her. Need to have another listen. Solo is pretty cool tho. More sort of futuristic/electro folk. But I think it qualifies sort of.

Having a relaxing evening listening to some acoustic stuff, and whilst playing this gem from the 80's I thought of this thread ....

Dibs, do me a favour please, when posting a graphic, say what it is, it's just that I can't see it.

No problem, it was the 1981 album by Scottish singer songwriter **** Gaughan, Handful of Earth

Earlier in the year I discovered Reannan Giddens fantastic album Freedom Highway, having previously thought I wasn't keen on her first release, but today I can't stop playing it, Tomorrow Is My Turn

I was the opposite, I quite liked her first album but found her latest difficult, she has quite a distinctive voice, maybe on the first album it's not so prominant, Freedom Highway is a lot more striped down sound, it's also mostly originals. But yes quite different albums, I will try Freedom Highway again, maybe I need to play it a few times. A similar singer is Valerie June.

Must admit, it canbe be a bad habit of mine to dismiss an album to quickly, only to go back to it and find I really like it.

With that in mind I will try Valerie June again.

Interesting what you said about Reannan Giddens, I probably preferred Freedom Highway because it's more stripped back, but it is quite varied in tempo too.

Really like the track Waterboy off her first one.

Happy new year

I quite like reaannan giddens in some respects. Nice put together album.

Sorry I know it’s not the right thread but if anyone does tidal, check out the tidal playlist ‘classical relaxation’. Not usual classical relax stuff. It’s going from classical masters and unknown pieces of these masters like Debussy, saint sains, all the way to Ravi shankar and to max richter. It’s totally blowing my mind at the moment. Sorry that sounds really druggy. Lol.

It features the beautiful and soulful voice of Conor J. O'Brien.

Some of these spotify sessions are very special indeed and this is one of them .
