If you are partial to a bit of Oysterband then maybe you might like Rev Hammer, in particular the album Industrial Sounds & Magic.

Rev Hammer has a limited appeal...

Lindsay Lou & Flatbellys album Ionia has just given way to Electro’s tip of Eivor’s Natureboy live.

To be followed by the album Unsongs by Moddi, not quite folk...not quite acoustic....but quality

I'm late coming into this one, and it's been a while since I've posted. Hope everyone is enjoying the New Year!

Here's 3 folk/acoustic albums I would strongly recommend:

Richard Thompson - Acoustic Classics

Cara Dillon - A Thousand Hearts

Sam Kelly & The Lost Boys - Pretty Peggy

they all ticked the boxes.....and I’m loving Sam Kelly and the Lost Boys.... thanks

I've got one CD by Moddi, think it's down as Scandi/Folk

The first three tracks had me, loved the smooth feel to the music. The rest of the album didn’t quite do it for me in the same way, although still enjoyable enough....but the first three tracks ;-)

Yes I agree... it's a good album overall, but low priority

Been listening to a guy called Johnny coppin and his album Borderland... not on Spotify.

Borderland isn’t on Tidal either, but there are 3 tracks from Mark Radcliffe’s Folk Sessions and they are decent too. Joseph Baker, Dream of England, When the Morning’s Here...

Just put this album on = Some Strange Country by Crooked Still

Yes, sam as Spotify.

Crooked still, excellent blue grass... features Aoife O'Donovan who's last album, In the Magic Hour, was very good... she has just teamed up with Sarah Jarosz and Sara Watkins to form a trio called I'm with her

Love Sarah Jarosz, not so keen on Watkins, but you might like.

I like that Sarah Jarosz too, thanks.

Just found Sarabeth Tucek, album of the same name. Love it 🙂

maybe I’m just in the mood for some soothing/chilled music

Many years ago I went to see Richard Thompson with Danny Thompson at Manchester's Royal Exchange Theatre. It was a magical evening, and the undoubted highlight was when both Helen Watson and Christine Collister came on stage and sang a handful of songs with RT and DT. It's one of my musical highlights and it really doesn't get any better for me.

ps: as I type 1952 Vincent Black Lightning has just come on Radio Paradise

Mac do you know Brandi Carlile? Just came across her on Deezer, americana playlist. Now playing The Secret Sisiters which you may like, their last album: You Don't Own Me Anymore seems to be the best.
