Irish brothers Hudson Taylor are worth a listen, surprisingly they only have one album Singing For Strangers. Makes me wonder how many artists and bands dont make it.

A slightly different flavour to try is Willy Mason and his album Carry On. Saw him when he was a support act for Ben Howard.

Thanks to Spotify discover weekly I came across Chantal Acda today... wow! stunning outfit from Belgium

They've got several albums and all very good.... trying to think who they remind me of... vocally This Is the Kit, musically they've got a very ambient acoustic sound with a variety of instrumentation.

I just had a listen to Chantal Acda and I thought she was very good.

Then I came across this live performance and WOW ! this is much better.

It often seems to me that live recordings are so much better than studio recordings.

Electro, I have to admit, I'm listening to the Chantal Acda live in Dresden album an it's stunning... thankfully the crowd don't spoil it at all... the track Winter Coat is particularly wonderful!

I agree about audiences spoiling some live recordings when they shout out and scream or whistle in the quiet bits, they are usually the drunk ones that talk and shout to their mates all through the performance just behind you. *aggressive*

I far prefer most live recordings, I hate it when studio's sanitize the music and rob it of life and a natural acoustic .

Somersault - Helen Watson.

Lovely album from about 20 years ago, but I believe this one might be right up your street.

Been really enjoying the new album from Stick in the Wheel "Follow Them True"

Surprised myself, as I didn't really like Nicola's vocals on their debut, seemed she was trying too hard to be an Eastender, bit more polished on the new one.

Every now and then I stumble across a real musical gem and this album is one of them, it is what I would describe as modern ambient electro folk music and it is a very heady combination indeed !

The first short track called 'Intro' is the most electronic but it gets progressively more folky / acoustic from there on, I just can't stop listening to it.

The recording quality is absolutely superb on this particular album of his.

Sam Brookes - Kairos .
