Sorry for our earlier chat Macspur. I think on reflection you are right and its probably best to be careful not to be seen to be commenting adversly on others music tastes on a forum. That wasnt my intention. I did try and make my comments balanced though. Best wishes.

Apology accepted, thank you quest... probably 6 of 1 and half a dozen of the other if you know what I mean.

I'm passionate about the music and artists I like and for those I don't like, I try to appreciate the hard work that's gone into creating that album that I know others will like, so, with the exception of gangster rap lol!, I try not to be too negative about others choice in music.

That's just the way I am.

@Radiorog... you won't get any more arguement from me on the matter.

Life's too short.

Just listening to Laura Veirs, Troubled by the Fire... have you tried her Quest?

Certainly wasn't hoping to stir an argument Mac, so that's good to hear. We all blow up sometimes when maybe we don't need to. If you ask me, as long as we are communicating, we are moving forward. Didn't Pink Floyd say something like that too?! :)

Ive done it as a bit of a mix of all music and a bit of a homage to some of the people we lost in 2017 (roger Moore doing a voiceover to an Xmas song) , glen Campbell, chuck berry, Brucie) Most of its quite well known, but just as long as it’s not too cringey, it will be good. I like Simon and Garfunkel silent night version (with news) . Threw in a few well known non xmassy tunes of similar theme as it’s got to be for other people too.

I’m doing a mainly female vocal playlist of some contemporary and new stuff. I love the track sleepwalker by Julie Byrne.

I included Postman pat for a bit of a laugh. I was trying to find zippy on rainbow or the wombals. Lol.

I think I did mention it some posts ago and someone else did too but can't remember who.Lovely album just love the intro into John Taylor's month away and fumes is brilliant.

Gonepostal and myself also. Three great minds..... :)

Bats In The Attic is my favourite track.

If you like Diamond Mine, definitely have a listen to Astronaut meets Appleman (get the deluxe version which includes the bonus track The Long Fade)

The harmonium solo in the middle of that song just elevates me to another level.

Not sure, but sounds profound and very true and it is the season of good will to all men after all.

I was contacted today by an artist by the name of Daniel Meade asking if I'd be willing to review an album of his.

It's not out until May, but he's sending me a promo. He's got a few albums on Spotify, the latest being Shooting Stars and Tiny Tears which is all his own work, but he does record with a band too.

Big H, think you might like him.

the new wolf Alice album is pretty decent for my tastes. I like first aid kit but I hope they do something totally new so to avoid ‘similar album disease’.

Good point about First Aid Kit, I was thinking the same.

I don't know how you feel about I Am Kloot? I love 'em and their main man John Bramwell released a superb live recording of a solo acoustic gig back in 2013 at the Hebden Bridge Trades Club. If you get a chance, go watch him live he's great entertainment..
