Not to mention their talents with the pen, creating storytelling and poetry, whether it be observations on life or nature, relationships or the land in which we live, and those who recreate Folk tales, songs that have been around for many years, performing them in their own style, that's the music I love.
Now, with that in mind, who can name some artists in this vane that you particularly like and recommend albums by them:
The ones I'm really into at the moment ar Phillip Henry and Hannah Martin and their new album called Edgelarks... remember it doesn't have to be just Folk.

I had a brief listen to edgelarks on very low volume using my phone on YouTube but liked what I briefly heard.
Anyway ordered the cd on Amazon. I'll let you know once I've heard more

What I'd probably call Folk/Pop, but it doesn't matter as it's acoustic and fits well in this post.

There’s a beautiful cover of Joni Mitchell’s ‘River’ on that album. That’s more than Folk enough for me.
The rest of it is beautiful too, especially at this time of year.
Up there with Sting’s ‘If on a Winter’s night’ and Tori Amos’ ‘Midwinter Graces’.

Is that the Christmas LP she released last year? (He asks instead of just doing Google)

A collaboration from former cocteau twins Simon Raymonde and Richie Thomas formerly jesus and marychain. Karen peris guests on the second track but the vocals from the girl on track one (Beth Canon)are fantastic. Also vocals from Leila Moss(Duke Spirit),Tim Smith (midlake)and ghost poet among others a great indie /synth /pop folk album and is on my list as a late aoty contender.
