Hi,

I've purchased some QED XT evolution cable to wire my recently purchased home cinema system.

My question relates to if I need connectors or plugs with the cable.

Is it ok to just to bare wire directly into amp and speakers? The cable has 5 strands around a central tube. Am I wasting the cable by just bare wiring?

Thanks

Thanks.

Are they easy to fit by someone who doesn't know what they are doing?

Our cuold I take the wire into a shop to get them fitted?

Impossible to fit correctly by somebody that doesn't know what they are doing. As Andrew mentioned in a thread below a specialist tool is required for the fitting of the QED airlocs. It isn't cheap fitting them to all of your cables though. My 3 front channels use QED Silver Anniversary XT with airlocs and those 3 cables cost me in excess of £150 if memory serves me rightly. I only had them fitted with airlocs as the cables are run behind a wall and I couldn't be bothered trimming them when the bare wires became oxidised over time.
