Has anyone downloaded the new firmware updates for September 24?

If yes does it make any difference for you?

I didn't know there was a new update.

Personally, I'd wait a week or two, as at least one previous update has caused problems (switching machines to the wrong region).

It would be good if it speeded them up ...

I didnt know there was an update either. I'll give it a month or so, then do it.
