Hi all

I've had my Pana TH42PX80B for about a week now.

Standard DVD playback even from my 8 year old Pioneer is awesome and the built in Freeview tuner is generally excellent - we're noticing a lot more details then on our excellent Sony Wega 100Hz TV it replaces.

But last night with nout on the box we resorted to watching 'Mean Girls' on Film 4 - the first time I'd watched this channel on the new set. The quality was simply awful - not knowing how to describe it I'd guess 'noise', 'blotchyness' and blurring on motion such as fast camera pans...

Could it just be a poor broadcast ?

Thanks

I've always thought Film 4 broadcasts are exceptional although I can't say I've seen Mean Girls on it! Could well have been a poor broadcast though.

Just wondering if the room conditions (ambient/direct light) were the same as when you thought the picture quality was excellent? ÿ

Well we haven't got any curtains up yet but it was quite late and dark ish and the same as other times we'd watched.

It is a 42 inch and is perhaps a little big for the room - last night we were about 6 inches closer to it due to keeping the sofa away from wet paint but I can't believe that little bit closer would make a difference...
