Would anyone be willing to help Ellis out with the costs of his efforts in reviewing hi Fi, and being a journo with all this, for his continued efforts. I would because I can understand how difficult it is financially to do this on top of a job. Especially staying in hotels, flying to Munich (Munich show) like he will be doing

normally people don’t ask themselves so I thought if I did it myself on someone’s behalf, people will help.

A lot of people have got a lot out of the reviews he has done. I have myself.

If anyone wants to make a donation then I reckon here would be the place to start, and maybe organise something via another site etc.

i can’t give a massive amount atm due to circumstances, but strength in numbers will no doubt do the job.

So I will kick it off and offer £20. What will you offer?

This way whoever would like to contribute has a simple way of doing so.

I set up Patreon about 2 weeks ago and I am hoping enough people pay a very small amount to add up to a decent amount to reinvest 100% back into the channel

Thats what I am hoping - I know everyone wants every penny for their next upgrade and I support that of course, so I am hoping £1 or maybe £2 from enough people will soon add up. No more than that

The contributions is Patreon - that is what I added to the home page recently hopefully to explain I am not begging here - not trying to supplement a lavish lifestyle because I dont have one. Not like your 20 year old You Tuber who is bragging he just bought he is new Lambo.

I am working hard at it in general and didnt want it to come across in the wrong way - need to talk about it but dont want to talk about it too much. Hard to know what to do for the best

You aren’t a charity, not at all. I was just thinking it could help lead to your continuity in your channel. More like an investment, and since people are regularly getting good advice from you and watching your videos and seeing you, people would see it as something in return.

Also I think seeing all the nasty posts, including this latest horrible one from this daveh idiot comment about me, when im doing good for someone else.

to be honest I’m rather saddened so far that people haven’t pledged to help or say they have or will and by how much. Hopefully that will change as more people add comments. we are obviously all independents in this life on our own economic path, but sometimes it’s just nice to help people out or look at it as a subscription to the work they are doing. That’s all I was thinking.

How do you know they haven't. Most people donate to whatever cause they might want to anonymously and not broadcast their "philanthropic" intents to all and sundry. Rest assured many will be supporting without the blaze of publicity you seem to need and the attention seeking associated with it

I appreciated the sentiment, I thought it cam across with heart in the right place for sure.

To be honest I would need to be much slimmer trying on all manner of bikinis to be worth any more than a £1 a month, but hopefully I make enough good content in a month to warrant a £1 or £2. Thats what I am hoping anyway

this is just more trolling behaviour from a nasty person, when I did it for very valiant reasons. It came after the post by black sabbath about Ellis’ videos. Ellis and I have been chatting on email about how costly it is to do shows. Hotel stays, flights etc, and that got me thinking too.

i actually thought people would be willing to say they would help given sometimes if one person does something, others follow. And I geuss I don’t know they haven’t pledged, but I’d like to think people would support openly as these giving sites do anyway.

if you read the original post you will see I asked if people would say if they were or have orvare going to help, not your political capital,point of ‘how do you know they havent’

rather than being openly generous, you’d prefer to have a slanging match with me. What does this say about you. Not a nice person. As far as I’m concerned our chats are over.
