Do it really need an amp?

Hi Guys

Im looking for a cheap solution to tide me over to see whilst waiting to see what range of blu ray home cinema systems come onto the market.

Can i plus the Jamo JA-A102HCS5/BK - 5.1 Speaker System directly into a DVD player or do I need an amp?

Any comments would be great

Nope, you need an amp, or more correctly an AV receiver.
