Never mind BS, there's always next year or our birthday!

My wife and I are getting our car radio/cd fixed tomorrow. and we are really excited about playing Cds again in our car; music of our own choice instead of relying on the radio..! Also while radio/cd is being installed we are popping into Exeter and I get to spend £45 in HMV vouchers in HMV; I think an album by Diamanda Gallas (Guilty Guilty Guilty) will defnitely be on the list (most probably I will have to order it as the actual CD will not be in store).

That sounds interesting I didn’t no you could get books on hifi related history

Yes, I also have books about Wharfedale and it’s founder Gilbert Briggs (by his nephew) and by Gilbert Briggs himself (about speaker design) and Ed Villchur of Acoustic Research (ditto).

I got High Time by the MC5 on vinyl plus cd's by the National and Neu! Best of all though my Wife surprised me completely with a beautifully pimped up Thorens TT it is glorious soundwise and to look at. Lucky me.

Greta Van Fleet - From The Fires CD.

Have a listen on Spotify. I would love your opinion BS. They are here on tour in March/April, but London is sold out already.

Have a listen to Baroness if you don't know the band.

well I listened to the album and brought it I personally feel they sound a lot like led zeppelin for such a young band which is a good thing because as long as they do not have a change in music direction they will go big just like led zeppelin did it’s great to hear a band like this it’s like finding gold in this day and age .

But did end up being able to use my HMV vouchers for The Smiths, Led Zeppelin, Muse, LCD Soundsystem, and Guardians of the Galaxy LPs. All 5 for a touch over £50.

Of course, I could probably have bought them on CD for £3 each!!!

Had to buy them myself, but got Steve Hackett Spectral Mornings 2016 remaster, Deadpool 4k and Into Darkness 4k.

Have not watched the films yet, but the Hackett includes an excellent 5:1 remaster by Steve Wilson.

No worries, I'm undecided myself. You mentioned something old sounding. They have this vibe drawing from metal, punk of old. Certainly doesn't feel like something written in this century. Thanks for giving it a go.

I dipped my toe into the world of a NAS just before Xmas, and bought myself a basic Synology DS116 secondhand off another forum. I've got it loaded up with about 2000+ albums which equates to about 29000 tracks, and I'm having great fun playing a random song mix through my Squeezebox Touch.

I didn’t buy anything for myself and receive any hi Fi related stuff (which I’d be the only one buying for myself anyway) but I gave my mum my iPhone 5s and bought my dad a kindle tv stick and gave him my newish chromecast audio too, which are great gadgets albeit not that expensive. He can use it with his bose player. I might get another cca as I used it with my Logitech speaker over Xmas and it sounded a bit better than the iPod used with it. Also gave my sister the album by big thief (capacity) which we listened too driving back from Yorkshire.

One of my presents from my other half was an Audioquest Dragonfly Red - it's a great little bit of kit and a great improvement over the Dragonfly 1.0 I was using before. Not quite up there with my CD63 (and I've got a huge list of more mods planned for that...) but I will be using it with my phone on the go as well as playing FLAC/streaming from my laptop to my main amp so as an all rounder it's awesome.

I am using a really cheap nasty long 3.5mm-RCA cable with it for now which probably isn't helping matters though - have to order something more suitable in the new year. It sounds stunning with my headphones.
