Hi, some people have said that Devialet does not do well when impedance level drops below 4 ohms. How do I test that? I am auditioning them with Logans probably this weekend, so while playing a song, how do I test a drop in the impedance

This thread is one example, http://www.whathifi.com/forum/hi-fi/holy-mackerel-devialet-are-trickling-down

For what it is worth......

I owned a pair of ML CLSIIIz for a while and had no problems with any of the amps I used.

That said they were all pretty potent and were of comparable price to the speakers. My personal favourite was an ARC D400-II which was not generally known for it's ability into very low impedences but unless I wanted to play very loud I thought it rather good.

one of my friends/customers used a mid 90s KSA100 which I thought sounded rather flat, powerfull but lacking the shading I was used too.

Well, the problem mentioned in Stereophile was not subtle: at high volumes the amp just shut down.

So if you like the combination, see how loud you can drive the speakers (preferably in your own room) without this happening. If your listening habits are 'civilized', it might be a non-issue for you. :)
