Denon DVD-2500BT and B&W 685 Theatre

Hello all,

From a purely 'picture and sound quality' perspective, has the 2500BT finally been eclipsed by the new Denon DBP-2012UD, Onkyo BD-SP809 and Marantz UD7006?

I am looking to upgrade and want to be if any of these players will give me a significant improvement over my 2500BT?

Also, can anyone tell me if there ever was a group test where the B&W 685 Theatre was finally dethroned and replaced by the current mid-range leader, the Dali Zensor 5 5.1?

IMO no.

Not seen or heard the Onkyo, but have demoed the 2012 and the 7006 is the same as the 2012.

I have the 2500BT and an OPPO 95, and to be honest i still prefer the 2500BT.

I still have my 2500BT and having compared this to the DBP-2012UD, I don't think there is any improvement in picture and/or sound quality.

I don't recall the 685 Theatre losing to the Dali in a Group Test. I don't think there ever was one!

Ok, got a chance to finally compare them and YES - 2500BT still is better for picture AND sound...!!! (MY EYES & EARS)

YAY..got mine for 250 new..so very happy!!
